The King's Orchestra

Once upon a time...
A King!
My little readers will say...

That's right, this time there was a king who, after bringing you all for the rooms of his castle, has also accompanied us in the bigger one, the one with so many drums and lots of colored eggs, the one with the Orchestra!

We must even try to play these beautiful instruments and see if we can make the Orchestra.

A friend of the King accompanies us with the flute as well as he plays the melody we can accompany him with our tools ... first with the drums ... then with the eggs ... then all together ... then no ... then standing ... then walking ... then only the red drums ... then only the green eggs ... then all the blue ... then ...

This little idea can be developed in many different ways but the primary goal is to let free the children to experience the rhythm on the drum and on the eggs (or other rhythm instruments) while listening to the melody as to arrive at the discovery of its own rhythmic pulse. I feel that you have to wait and not play the right rhythm but if we're careful, we finally will look the children (a little by imitation and a little with listening to ) discovering the rhythm. When this happens (and it happens) is a fantastic natural magic .

In the video below you can see an excerpt from a class of mine with three year olds doing the Orchestra for the first time... surely you'll see who of course is in the rhythm and who of course is experiencing.
